Study Aid or Ethical Breach?

It’s no secret that technology and the Internet are continually revolutionizing the educational world. In yet another high-tech twist, a new Web site is encouraging students to submit old tests for others to view.

According to the article, “Finished with your exam? Good. Now share it,” the Web site was recently trading $5 gift cards for old exams of UC San Diego students

Obviously this has caught the attention of some faculty at the college. Amid these reported concerns, the site owner denies the tests are for cheating purposes and says professors can join a list to prevent usage of their class materials. But some professors, the article indicates, agree with the site leader’s view that old tests are just another study aid. The question remains, is this preparation or cheating?
